Brief History of UBC (University of British Columbia)
In 1908, the University of British Columbia (UBC), located in VANCOUVER, was established through an Act of the provincial legislature meeting. After the act, In 1910 a location at Point Grey was selected for UBC’s Vancouver campus.
But the campus was not operational because of the outbreak of the First World War which had delayed the official construction of the site. In 1915, the UBC campus began operations at Fairview.
With the school’s affiliation with McGill, it was given its first staff and basic curriculum in arts and science and engineering.
Later on, in 1919, the first Faculty of Agriculture, nursing, and health programs were created which pave way for the first-degree course in the British Empire.
In 1920, other major honours courses, extension services, and summer sessions were introduced, and McGill’s Victoria College in Victoria became an affiliate of the university.
In 1936, the actual academic expansion had fully started which include the establishment of a university extension department and the development of work in forestry and commerce.

• Never been chosen before for the need-and-merit-based International Schola award.

How to apply for the International Major Entrance Scholarship (IMES)
The application for the University of British Columbia (UBC) scholarship, through the International Major Entrance Scholarship(IMES), is usually done 15th of January of every year
After the application, you will be automatically considered for the IMES.
Status of the University of British Columbia Scholarship
A candidate will be allowed for the scholarship soon after hehe/she receives an offer of admission to UBC.
